Hours
NO PARK/TRAILS ENTRY ON SUNDAYS 2 HOURS PRIOR TO CLOSING
Summer – April 1 to December 1
Camping available (no showers after Nov 1)
- Friday – 1 pm to 9 pm
- Saturday – 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
- Sunday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (no entry after 3:00 p.m.)
Winter – December 2 to March 31
NO camping available
- Saturday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Sunday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (NO Entry after 2:00 p.m.)
The park will be CLOSED from May 3 to May 13 due to flooding, road closures and more impending rain. We will schedule to open the park the following weekend for May 17-18-19, pending any further flooding issues. Thanks for your indulgence.
Any park closures due to weather will be posted here. All park hours subject to change due to inclement weather.
Directions
Hwy 69 & 54 in Fort Scott:
- Take Hwy 54 west approximately 8 miles to 125th Street.
- Go North on 125th Street 6 miles and turn East onto Tomahawk.
- Follow Tomahawk East 1/2 mile to 130th.
- Take 130th Street North 1/2 mile to the front gate of the park.
Hwy 69 & CR566/Hwy 239 (Prescott Exit):
- Take E. 300 Road/County Road 566 West (E. 300 Road/Country Road 566 if you go West and Hwy 239 if you go east.)
- Go about 8 miles and take K-7 South approximately 5 miles to Hwy 31 West. 3. Take Highway 31 West (toward Mapleton) to Union Street.
- Take Union Street South 4 miles to Tomahawk
- Follow Tomahawk East 1/2 mile to 130th.
- Take 130th Street North 1/2 mile to the front gate of the park.
